Bayou Land Conservancy raised more than $150,000 at its “Our Land, Our Legacy” gala, held Nov. 10 at The Springs-Pinehaven in Magnolia, according to a Dec. 1 news release.

The event was in support of the conservancy’s mission to preserve land along streams for flood control, clean water, and wildlife, according to the news release. Those honored include volunteer Jeff Hodges, who received the Trailblazer Award, and Nathan Ingram, owner of Tranquility Ranch who received the Conservation Champion Award.

“We are grateful to all of those who came out to raise money, honor our Trailblazer and Conservation Champion awardees, and mix and mingle with like-minded conservation supporters,” Bayou Land Conservancy Executive Director Jill Boullio said via news release.

Guests also experienced the kickoff of fundraising to support the nonprofit’s Cindy’s Redbud Preserve project near Montgomery, according to the release. The 87-acre preserve features restored native Texas prairie and hosts an abundance of plant and animal life. Fundraising for the stewardship of Cindy’s Redbud Preserve will run through June 1, and the fundraising goal is $62,000, according to the news release.
