Nearly a quarter of a million voters turned out during early voting in Montgomery County for the Nov. 5 general election, setting a new record for early voting in a general election.

What you need to know

Election Day is on Nov. 5, and early voting closed on Nov. 1; during the 12 days of early voting, 249,526 ballots were cast in Montgomery County both by mail and in person.


Why it matters

According to historical data from the Texas Secretary of State and Montgomery County Election Central, the 2024 general election set a new record for early voting from prior presidential election years. There are 456,477 registered voters in the county based on election data, meaning 54.6% of registered voters have already voted in the Nov. 5 election.

Unlike during early voting, voters who have not cast their ballot will be required to go to their designated voting precinct location on Election Day, which can be found by using the county's Voter Registration Lookup tool.
