In less than one month, Willis ISD schools will welcome students for the 2025-26 school year. Keep reading for need-to-know information ahead of the first day of school Aug. 13.

What’s changing?

According to the WISD website, school hours for the 2025-26 school year will be 8 a.m.-3 p.m. for pre-K, 7:45 a.m.-3:15 p.m. for elementary, 8:15 a.m.-3:50 p.m. for middle school and 7:15 a.m.-2:50 p.m. for high school.

WISD updated its Chromebook information, and the district said it will provide devices to secondary students for digital learning starting during the 2025-26 school year. Students in ninth through 12th grade will be able to take the assigned device home as needed, according to the website.

First steps


Before a new student can start school at WISD, online registration and a meeting with the campus registrar must be completed, according to the WISD website. Current student verification and annual forms can be found here. New students can register online here.

According to WISD’s website, required documents for student registration include:
  • Proof of residence
  • Current immunization records
  • Valid driver’s license of enrolling parent/guardian
  • Child’s birth certificate
  • Child’s social security card
