The details
The system will allow staff to quickly and discreetly notify school administrators and emergency services in case of a threat or crisis, Amanda Davis-Summerville, director of technology and digital learning, said.
The system functions as a wearable alert that can be triggered silently, bypassing the need for phone calls or intercom announcements. It is designed for rapid response during emergencies such as intruder incidents, medical events or other on-campus disruptions, according to a presentation.
Davis-Summerville said training and rollout of the program will take place in August, ahead of the upcoming school year, and Crisis Go is the contracted company.

The device, when activated, sends instant alerts to designated school personnel, law enforcement, and first responders, providing the user’s exact location within the school. This type of technology has grown in popularity among Texas districts in response to statewide safety mandates and recent legislative changes, according to the presentation.
The exact cost of the system was not discussed during the meeting.
