How we got here
The new middle school is part of the district's 2022 bond for $143 million that included funding for a new elementary school, as previously reported by Community Impact.
Other projects in the bond include:
- Elementary School No. 7, which is expected to be located within The Woodlands Hills community
- A fine arts addition at Lynn Lucas Middle School
- Turf for the Willis High School softball and baseball fields
- The purchase of a 60.984-acre tract of land near the southeast corner of FM 830 and I-45
Construction is in the steel framework stage with its contractor company Durotech, a Houston-based company. The design was done by VLK, a Fort Worth-based company.
District officials are asking the community to help name the new middle school and the new elementary school. Residents can submit a name by July 7.
