Uncle Bob's BBQ relocates business to Conroe

Uncle Bob's BBQ relocated from Montgomery to Conroe. The new location, 101 Silverdale Drive, opened Jan. 19. Owner Bob Blalock said the company decided to move the business after the former occupant in Conroe retired last year.

"We wanted to buy property," he said. "In Montgomery, we were just renting."

Uncle Bob's BBQ & Catering sells traditional slabs of meat including brisket, pulled pork, smoked sausage and grilled chicken. The restaurants also offers loaded baked potatoes, hamburgers, brisket grilled cheese and banana pudding. Daily specials are listed on Facebook.

Blalock said the response from the Conroe community has been great, but he is still hoping to bring in more new customers.

"The customer reaction has been very positive," he said. "There are so many repeat customers. We might see the same person 2-3 times a week in a month, but we know we aren't reaching everybody and we want to change that—come see us."

Blalock said the only change in menu from Montgomery to Conroe is the offering of fried food. The new location no longer sells fried items.

Uncle Bob's BBQ is open Monday-Friday 10:30 a.m.-3 p.m. The restaurant is closed on Saturdays and Sundays. Catering is seven days a week. 936-448-9227. www.unclebobssauces.com
