McCrorey Trails, a 62-acre residential community, is now selling homes and doing tours, according to a June 16 news release.

The development by Ellison Development and built by D.R. Horton features 295 homes with floor plans starting at 1,158 square feet and pricing beginning below $200,000, according to the news release. Construction started in Conroe in April 2023.

The details

The homes are a part of D.R. Horton’s Traditional Series, offering three- to four-bedroom floor plans with two bathrooms and one-car garages, according to the release.

McCrorey Trails residents have access to various community amenities, including a catch-and-release pond, basketball and pickleball courts, a park with a misting area for children to keep cool, and more, according to the release. The community is zoned to Willis ISD, including Cannan Elementary, Lynn Lucas Middle School and Willis High School.

What else?

Ellison Development’s mission is to offer affordable homes for the everyday Houstonian who wants to own a home, said Colleen Ellison, vice president of Ellison Development.

“The average blue-collar worker or just a worker in general needs to have access to [homes],” Ellison said. “ They’re contributing to the community and should be able to take their money and invest it back in themselves.”

Quote of note

“Homeownership is possible,” Ellison said. “There's so many tales out there [saying] homeownership isn't possible if you're working a 9-5, but the possibility is there with the partnership of Ellison development and D.R. Horton.”
