Rainbow Roller Rink in Conroe will host a free skate party Aug. 6 to celebrate 70 years in business and 40 years at its current location, according to a news release.

The details

The event includes free admission, skate rentals, '70s-themed music and family activities, the release states.

“The free skate party is our way of saying thank you to the community that has kept us rolling for seven decades,” manager Jason Keating said in the release.

How we got here

Founded in 1955, the rink has been operated by the Allen-Keating family since the 1970s and is now run by the second and third generations, per the release.

“The Allen family watched generations of skaters grow up on Rainbow’s floor,” Keating said in the release. “We regularly meet parents, grandparents—even great-grandparents—who want their children to experience the same joy they had skating here when they were young.”

The anniversary event will run from 4-9 p.m. at 1695 N. Loop 336 E., Conroe.
