Montgomery County Veterans Memorial Park Commission hosts Memorial Day events May 30, 31

The Montgomery County Veterans Memorial Park Commission is hosting two events over Memorial Day and Memorial Day weekend: The inaugural Kid's Cast and Catch and Family Fun Day on May 30, and the Memorial Day Observance and Dedication on May 31. The veterans park is located at 1 Freedom Blvd., Conroe.

The first event begins with a 9 a.m. check-in, with activities from 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m., according to a news release from Taylorized PR. Activities include kids' fishing with all bait and poles provided, hotdogs and beverages, a patriotic concert, a bounce house, yard games and face painting. The event is free, according to the Facebook event.


The Memorial Day ceremony begins at 11 a.m. with the dedication of several structures and monuments at the park, including "Remembered Whispers," an interactive acoustical monument honoring the Women Air Force Service Pilots that served the nation from 1942-44, according to the news release.
