Roadwork continues on the "Big 6" during the first full week of April.

For the week of April 6, drivers should expect several full road closures.

What you need to know

  • April 6: single-lane closure between Texas Avenue and Rock Prairie Road, 7:30 p.m.-6:30 a.m.
    • The southbound main lane between Texas Avenue and Rock Prairie Road will be closed for construction.
    • The Texas Department of Transportation will keep the Rock Prairie Road exit open, but the southbound Texas Avenue on-ramp and the Barron Road off-ramp will be closed. Drivers can reenter north of Barron Road.
  • April 7-9: full closure between Rock Prairie Road and Southwest Parkway, 8:30 p.m.-6:30 a.m.
    • Roadwork will close off all northbound main lane traffic. Drivers will be directed to exit at Rock Prairie Road and may reenter north of Southwest Parkway.
    • TxDOT will also close off the on-ramps south of Barron Road and Southwest Parkway.
