College Station is positioning itself as a growing hub for sports tourism, with several national and international events scheduled to bring large crowds to the city throughout 2026.
Visit College Station officials said in a news release that the lineup, which ranges from international soccer to professional softball championships, reflects increasing collaboration between Texas A&M University and the city, aimed at attracting large-scale events.
Together, organizers point to expanded athletic facilities, hotel capacity and regional accessibility as key reasons College Station continues landing high-profile competitions.

Visit College Station officials said the events highlight the city's growing role in sports tourism, which drives hotel stays and traffic to local restaurants and shops.
College Station currently offers more than 4,200 hotel rooms, according to the news release.

Savannah Bananas make a tour stop at Kyle Field: The viral baseball entertainment team, the Savannah Bananas, will stop in College Station as part of its national tour. According to Visit College Station, the game was sold out in minutes.
"They're more than a baseball team—they're a national obsession," Visit College Station Assistant Director of Tourism Jeremiah Cook said.
The Bananas will take on the Texas Tailgaters on May 2 at Kyle Field.
'Road to 26' international friendly comes to Kyle Field: World Cup champion Argentina will face Honduras at Kyle Field as part of the Road to 26 international friendly series.
"Events like this showcase our ability to host on a global stage," College Station Mayor John Nichols said.
The Argentina vs. Honduras soccer match will take place at 8 p.m. June 6 at Kyle Field. Tickets are on sale now here.
EB Cushing Stadium hosts USATF Lone Star Grand Prix: College Station will host one of only two U.S. stops on the USA Track & Field Gold circuit at Texas A&M's E.B. Cushing Stadium. The track meet includes national television coverage and more than $200,000 in prize money.
Mayor Nichols called it a "big moment for College Station."
College Station hosts for AUSL 2026 Championship Weekend: The Athletes Unlimited Softball League chose College Station to host its 2026 championship series at Texas A&M's Davis Diamond, bringing professional athletes and national exposure to the area.
"College Station has established itself as a premier destination for major sporting events," AUSL Commissioner Kim Ng said.
Games of Texas returns: While not a Visit College Station-associated event, the city is just as excited to help host "the largest amateur sporting event in Texas, providing another significant economic boost."
City Communications Director Colin Killian told Community Impact the event is an Olympic-style festival, which brings almost 8,000 amateur athletes from across the state to compete in events including swimming, track and field, archery, boxing and pickleball, among many other events.
This is an intergovernmental event between Bryan, College Station and Texas A&M University. Games of Texas 2026 will return to Aggieland for the ninth time since 1988, July 30 through Aug. 2.
Some context
Major sporting and entertainment events of summer 2024 generated $3.6 million in hotel stay revenue alone with the MEXTOUR international soccer game and the record-breaking George Strait concert, both hosted at Kyle Field, the city of College Station reported. The USA Track & Field National Junior Olympic Championships brought 8,000 athletes to Aggieland, resulting in an economic impact of $10.8 million.
According to the city, the 2025 Texas Amateur Athletic Federation's Summer Games of Texas raked in $6.5 million for the Bryan-College Station economy.
