College Station City Council is set to review several construction and improvement projects worth more than $1 million around the city, along with possibly amending the Comprehensive Plan for the second time in 2026 for future land use.
Agenda material includes updated ordinances for areas of commercial districts and vehicle sales and repairs, as well as construction and other financial projects.
What you need to know
A bulk of the hearing is expected to include land ordinances and possible amendment of the Comprehensive Plan for 7.2 acres on Harvey Mitchell Parkway South between Dartmouth Street and Earl Rudder Freeway South.
The council will also hear a presentation on the possible amendment of the codes for the sale and repair of vehicles in the city.
Items worth mentioning
Several items are regarding contracts for construction and maintenance and general expenditures:
- Maintenance upgrades: a grant of up to $500,000 for maintenance activities associated with pavement marking applications for all street types
- Public roof repairs: $141,240 for roof replacements at three city-owned facilities, including a fire department, Wolf Pen Creek Park and the G. Hysmith Skatepark
- Sponsorship agreement: an agreement with the Athletes Unlimited Softball League for the AUSL Championship Series for $160,743, which is a part of the AUSL Championship Series at Texas A&M's Davis Diamond on July 25-26
- Clothing expenses: an agreement for $275,000 from C.C. Creations and M&M Apparel for city-related clothing items
- Highway 6 electrical improvements: an electrical overhead crossing relocation and improvement related to the Highway 6 widening project, not to exceed $145,583.72. This is among the various expenses toward the improvement of Highway 6.

Other items include new agreements for recycling pickups, actions regarding the Parks and Recreation Department update and increasing housing density.
