Bryan ISD’s June 1 board meeting is set to have a discussion about approving the compensation plan for the upcoming school year, along with other upgrades and decisions regarding funds.

Board members are set to discuss items related to district-wide compensation, technology upgrades for campuses, infrastructure updates and items related to the general fund.
Key action items in the agenda are:
- Compensation plan: Chief Financial Officer Norma Friddle is set to discuss and consider approval for the 2026-27 school year compensation plan for Bryan ISD. Previous Community Impact reporting has stated that Bryan ISD had been facing some financial challenges previously, but the outlook is optimistic for the district.
- New district telecommunications system: According to agenda material, Bryan ISD is considering a contract with Cisco for a new telecommunications system. The Cisco product would feature “parent square calling” that prioritizes safety and privacy of conversations between teachers and parents. Bryan ISD is looking to sign a five-year contract with Cisco if the deal goes through.
- Engineering services: Led by Deputy Superintendent Brian Merrell and Director of Construction Services Bobby Griffin, Bryan ISD is looking to receive engineering services from E3 Entegral Solutions Inc. using funds from the 2020 bond. The goal is to provide chiller replacements for Bonham, Crockett, Houston, Johnson and Navarro elementary schools.
- Infrastructure improvements: Merrell is leading a proposal to replace chilled water, hot water piping, and Victaulic couplings at Long Intermediate and Rayburn Intermediate Schools. The project would be set to cost $50,000 and would come from the 2020 bond.
