A new solar manufacturing facility is now up and running in College Station. Leaders say the project represents both local job growth and a broader push for American resources and manufacturing.
About the company
US Modules will produce solar modules and is expected to bring more than 250 jobs to the Bryan-College Station area. According to the company’s career page, more positions are still open locally as operations ramp up.
“America should build things right here in America,” CCO of CIG Brian Henley said. “We believe it’s a redefining moment for America.”
How we got here
Company leaders said the decision to open the facility in Texas was intentional.
Charles Carey, founder of CIG Companies, said Texas stood out as a natural fit for the company’s mission. He said the company wants to create jobs in the U.S. and not outsource overseas.

Speakers at the facility's grand opening event emphasized both the economic and national significance of the project. Patrick Bisher, CMO for CIG, described the facility as part of a larger shift in the country’s energy strategy.
“Energy dependence is becoming energy independence right here in the great state of Texas. ... We will bring back American manufacturing,” he said.

“That’s more than a job,” Dyson said. “That’s families. ... [CIG] chose to invest in people here and that says a lot.”
The grand opening took place on National Medal of Honor Day, with company leaders recognizing veterans and service members during the ceremony.
To celebrate the launch, US Modules boasted a skydiving display carrying American and Texas flags.

Assessing the need
Nationally, demand for solar energy continues to grow as the U.S. works toward long-term clean energy goals. According to the Energy Information Administration, the U.S. is projected to add nearly 70 gigawatts of solar capacity between 2026 and 2027, reflecting rapid growth.

Locally, company officials say this facility is just the beginning.
A second production line is expected to come online in the coming months, increasing capacity as the company looks toward future expansion.
