Antone’s Famous Po’ Boys has closed its brick-and-mortar location in the Texas Medical Center.

The sandwich shop’s last day at the medical center location, 6618 Fannin St., was June 25, the chain announced in a June 28 news release.

Antone’s made the move after it reopened the store Nov. 2 following its closure due to COVID-19; the store first opened in December 2019.

The closure comes after the chain decided it best served the Texas Medical Center by taking its sandwiches to customers through its delivery and catering programs instead of through a brick-and-mortar location, a spokesperson said.

The chain will continue selling its sandwiches to Texas Medical Center personnel and visitors not only inside Texas Children’s Hospital, but also other hospital and medical office buildings as well as in more than 200 area grocers, including H-E-B, Randalls, and Kroger.

Nearby Antone’s sandwich shops include Galleria at West Loop 610 and San Felipe Street and Greater Heights at I-610 and TC Jester Boulevard. www.antones1962.com
