Just in time for shopping for the holidays, Houston’s The Galleria, 5085 Westheimer Road, announced openings for several new retailers in December.

  • Founded by Spanish-born Cristóbal Balenciaga in 1917 and established in Paris in 1937, fashion icon Balenciaga is now open on Level 1 near the Orange Garage and Nieman Marcus. www.balenciaga.com/us

  • Born in 2000, Venice-based Golden Goose is bringing its high-fashion sneaker brand to The Galleria, offering a collection that includes ready-to-wear accessories and footwear, combining a refined and modern style with a vintage feeling.   • Merging modern fashion sense with classic style, Carlisle is bringing its collections to The Galleria. It is located on Level 2, near the Brown Garage and Saks Fifth Avenue. www.carlislecollection.com

  • Akris, the Swiss luxury fashion and accessories house, was founded in 1922 in St. Gallen, Switzerland. With a worldwide presence and known for its sleek collections for women and its signature accessories, the Swiss icon has opened a store at The Galleria.   • India-based restaurant Musaafer has opened its only U.S. location in The Galleria, offering authentic Indian cuisine with a contemporary flair and avant-garde presentation.   • With a focus on fit, function and style for athletic apparel for both men and women, Fabletics has opened its only Texas location at The Galleria. It is located on Level 1, near Macy’s, and is best accessed through the Red Garage/Green Garage. www.fabletics.com

  • Wave Fashion Wear, which offers young women’s apparel and accessories, is now open at The Galleria. Located on Level 2, near Forever 21, this store can be best accessed through the Yellow Garage. www.wavefashion.com

  • Diamond X International, a family-owned company, specializes in gold, diamonds, gold and diamond items, and custom jewelry, along with engagement rings and bridal sets. www.shopdiamondx.com
