Baylor Orthopedics and Sports Medicine opened a new clinic in January at Kirby Glen near the Texas Medical Center.

What they offer

According to a Jan. 27 news release, the new clinic offers services for general orthopedics and sports medicine, including non-operative and surgical care for injuries and disorders of the bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, muscles and nerves.

Patients can receive help at the clinic with a variety of concerns, such as:
  • Diagnosing an orthopedic condition or disorder
  • Identifying and treating injuries using both surgical and non-surgical approaches
  • Providing rehabilitation to an affected area or function
  • Establishing prevention protocol to inhibit further damage
The new location will also feature first-floor access and free parking and is located a few minutes away from Baylor Medicine's McNair Campus in the Texas Medical Center.

Something to know

Dr. Douglas Dirschl, professor and chair of the Joseph Barnhart Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Baylor said the opening of the Kirby Glen clinic represents an important step in expanding access to care for the Houston community.

“By integrating our clinical services with our existing physical therapy location, we're creating a seamless care experience that better serves our patients’ needs,” he said.

The Kirby Glen location will be ran by Dr. Phillip Williams, an orthopedic surgeon and assistant professor at Baylor College of Medicine, and Amber Breindel, an instructor and nurse practitioner of orthopedic surgery.

The clinic is accepting new patients and is ready to begin scheduling appointments.
