"During this phase, residents will not be permitted to use these fields and are urged to exercise caution around active construction areas," the June announcement reads.
The project
Milton Water Line project is part of the city's Capital Improvement Plan and aims to modernize the city's water infrastructure, enhance water delivery and minimize risks of water leaks or breaks. The project will replace dated cast iron pipes in order to reduce the risks of leaks or breaks that will improve how the city distributes water, according to city officials.
The timeline
Construction on the entire project is estimated to last nine months, according to the project’s website. The following project updates took place in 2025:
- June 16: construction initiated
- April 14: City Council unanimously approved the $2.4 million construction contract with ISJ Underground Utilities LLC.
