Located at Hermann Park, Miller Outdoor Theatre offers a variety of free events for the public during a season that typically runs from April through November. Although performances are free, guests can secure tickets for covered seating one day prior to each performance.

The following events have been announced for April:
- April 1: "Remember when rock was young" The Elton John tribute stars Craig Meyer, a singer, actor and pianist who performs a number of John's most popular songs while in full character and costume. The show begins at 8 p.m. and is both live and streamed online.
- April 2: "Houston's got Bollywood: Mela—The Carnival" The Bollywood Dance Theatre performance depicts the celebrations at the carnival with the help of 50 dances, costumes and other captivating visuals. The stories of the carnival serve as a metaphor for life experiences. The show begins at 8 p.m. and is both live and streamed online.
- April 7: My First Orchestral Concert Young children and their families are invited to celebrate the power of music with an interactive 45-minute concert put on by musicians with the Houston Symphony, Apollo Chamber Players and Mercury Chamber Orchestra, among other groups. The show begins at 11 a.m and is live.
- April 8: "In The Heights" The popular movie based on a Lin-Manuel Miranda musical is streamed at the Miller Outdoor Theatre stage. The screening begins at 8 p.m.
- April 9: Cirque Zuma Zuma The Zuma Zuma Acrobats show off their feats of balance, agility and motor coordination to a soundtrack of African drumming, dance and chanting. The show begins at 8 p.m. and is both live and streamed online.
- April 15: America The classic rock band continues its 50th anniversary tour with a show that features founding members Gerry Beckley and Dewey Bunnell. The show begins at 8:15 p.m. and is live only.
- April 16: Philly Soul Sound The Community Music Center of Houston performs music from Philadelphia-based bands such as The O'Jays, The Spinners and Billy Paul. The show begins at 8:15 p.m. and is both live and streamed online.
- April 20: Rhyme & Reason Express Children's Theatre brings a celebration of Black history that includes music, dance and poetry from ancient Africa to the modern day. Two Houston poet laureates perform at the show, including Emanuelee "Outspoken" Bean and Deborah DEEP Mouton. The live show begins at 11 a.m.
- April 23: Kinder HSPVA's Encore 50 Students from Houston ISD's Kinder High School of Performing and Visual Arts host a party displaying the work of each fine arts department, including creative writing, dance, instrumental music, theater, visual arts and vocal music. Some of the school's most acclaimed alumni will also take part in the event. The show begins at 8:15 p.m. and is both live and streamed online.
- April 26: "The Barber of Seville in Texas" The famed Rossini opera is adapted into a bilingual retelling with a story that centers two star-crossed lovers in Texas. The live show begins at 11 a.m.
- April 29: "Encanto" A movie screening of the animated musical, featuring songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda, will be screened at the theater's stage. The screening begins at 8:15 p.m.
- April 30: Heart By Heart Steve Fossen and Michael Derosier, the bassist and drummer for the band Heart, will perform a show that includes the band's most famous hits alongside deeper cuts. The show begins at 8:15 p.m. and is both live and streamed online.
