Harris County Precinct 4 Commissioner Lesley Briones is launching a free after-school program in August for residents.
The program is called “Stay After School With Precinct 4” and will run in alignment with the 2025-26 Houston ISD academic calendar, according to the program’s website, and take place at two senior education centers in the county.
What parents should know
Families with children in grades kindergarten through fifth grade can register their children online through the county website here.
The after-school program is being offered on a first-come, first-served basis and will run Monday through Friday, Aug. 12-June 4, 2026, from 3-7 p.m., but will be closed on major holidays and school breaks.
What’s being offered
Students will partake in different activities based on grade levels to support social development and creativity, according to a July news release. Program areas will include science, technology, engineering, arts, math, sports and leadership.
