Officials with the George R. Brown School of Engineering and Computing at Rice University are marking 50 years since the school’s formation with a celebratory weekend packed with events on March 28-29.
To mark the school’s five decades in education, the event welcomes alumni, students and the general public who might be interested in the future of engineering or computing. In addition to the March event, the engineering and computing school will also host a variety of other gatherings throughout the year to showcase the work of faculty, students and alumni, according to the university’s website.
“Our golden jubilee is more than a celebration— it’s a call to action to continue our tradition of solving for the greater good, using our collective voices and skills to improve lives and protect our environment," the university website states. "It’s a recommitment to excellence in engineering education, research and impact.”
