Gypsy Poet pizzeria looks to open new location in Rice Village

Local pizzeria restaurant Gypsy Poet plans on opening its third location in Houston, according to a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filing.

The details

The $350,000 renovation project will be located on 2512 Times Blvd., the site that currently houses the now-closed Thai Village Restaurant. The project is expected to start construction on Nov. 3 and be completed on Dec. 31. Details are subject to change.

The restaurant also has two other locations in Midtown and the Heights.

Gypsy Poet serves creative thin-crust pizzas such as:

• Margherita "The Queen": House tomato sauce, mozzarella, fior di latte cheese and basil
• Pepperoni Madness: House tomato sauce, mozzarella, big pepperoni and hot honey
• Fancy Backpacker: House tomato sauce, mozzarella, fior di latte cheese, prosciutto di parma, truffle oil and arugula

The pizzeria also serves salads such as a chopped caprese and a portobello salad, as well as desserts such as nutella confezzione and tiramisu.
