Restaurant officials with Fig & Olive Tasting Kitchen & Bar announced on their website that they have served patrons their final meal at all of its national locations, including at the Houston Galleria.

“More than 20 years ago, we founded Fig & Olive to capture the essence of the French Riviera, that is built on a foundation of genuine ingredients, deep respect for flavor and an ambiance that celebrates the love of life and culture,” the statement read. “We are deeply saddened to announce that Fig & Olive served its final dinner service on Sunday, April 27, 2025.”

What happened

The parent company of the upscale, French Mediterranean restaurant chain, Luxury Dining Group, and Fig & Olive Holding LLC filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in July 2020 and cited financial challenges exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, according to court documents with the New York Southern Bankruptcy Court.

The restaurant chain also had locations outside of Houston, including Washington D.C. and New York City, according to its website.


“We are thankful to our guests who, through our ups and downs, COVID and all, for their loyalty and continued support of our restaurants," the online statement reads.
