May 11 marks one year since Middle Eastern restaurant Hamsa has offered Houston a taste of Israel.

The 4,600-square-foot-restaurant in Rice Village, located at 5555 Morningside Drive, Ste. 100, Houston, has offered Israeli cuisine such as shared plates of salatim, hummus or main dishes such as grilled lamb kebabs.

Hamsa is open for lunch and dinner, Tuesday to Sunday, with lunch starting at 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. and dinner beginning at 5 p.m. until 10 p.m., except for Sunday, which is open until 9 p.m., according to its website.

For dinner guests interested in exploring its six-seat chef’s table option called the “Yalla Yalla experience,” at $75 per person, guests can experience a full table of a catered tasting menu. Customers also have a large list of wines to choose from that emphasize options from Israel and Lebanon.

The owners from Sof Hospitality also opened its sister-bakery and cafe Badolina, located next door to Hamsa, back in June 2021.
