Houston's Galleria mall will undergo a major interior and exterior revitalization effort that will begin this summer and run through early 2025.

The details

According to a news release on the expansion, real estate trust Simon is investing in multimillion dollar upgrades to the The Galleria, including aesthetic changes to the north and east facing valet areas from Nordstrom through the Westheimer entrance, as well as several entryways, ceiling enhancements, LED lighting and 155,000 square feet of new flooring throughout the center.

These upgrades come after a 2017 redevelopment of The Galleria, which included renovations to the mall's luxury wing, new retailers and a reimagined Saks Fifth Avenue, per the release.

What else?

Two more high-end retailers, Italian brands Etro and Frette, are also expected to open soon at The Galleria per the release.

Gucci is also currently expanding into a two-story concept, while Fendi and Saint Laurent have recently doubled their footprints at the mall.
