Sugared + Bronzed, a hair removal and tanning studio, is planning a new location in Rice Village, according to a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation report.

What they offer

Sugared + Bronzed has multiple locations throughout the United States, with three locations currently open in Houston. The Rice Village location will be the company's fourth Houston location.

The studio offers personalized services such as airbrush tanning and sugaring.

Sugaring is a hair removal method that uses a paste of sugar, lemon and water to remove hair from the root. It is typically thought to be less painful than traditional waxing and can last three to six weeks. Sugared + Bronzed officials note that each location uses 100% natural sugaring paste for hair removal that is gentle on the skin, vegan, hypoallergenic and biodegradable, according to previous Community Impact reporting.

The studio offers tanning not through tan beds, but through airbrush spray tans performed by in-house trained specialists, according to the studio's website.

The timeline

Construction on the Rice Village location is expected to start Oct. 6 and finish Dec. 12, costing $250,000, according to the TDLR report. Details are subject to change.
