The Houston-based accessory and clothing designer Sarah Stewart opened a flagship store in Rice Village on March 19, offering the namesake's line of handmade handbags, totes, leather outerwear, shoes and clothing.

Prior to the opening of the flagship location, Stewart operated for roughly a decade as a wholesaler. Her offerings include a "feminine and whimsical" line of products that are made through partnerships with Indonesian artisans in Bali and Java, according to a news release. Stewart spent five years living in Indonesia, where her connections with artisans were formed, according to the release.

"We are committed to supporting artisan makers throughout the Indonesian Islands," Stewart said in a statement. "Every piece from Sarah Stewart encapsulates a blend of Texas charm and

Indonesian inspiration."
