Several new businesses are slated to open in May in the Bellaire and Meyerland areas, including the new Bellaire location of popular Montrose burger joint Lankford's and a new wellness concept in Meyerland.

Meanwhile, a longtime jeweler near Southside Place will celebrate its 45th anniversary with a public party that will feature barbecue, craft beer and live country music.

1. The second location of Lankford’s will open May 15 at 5208 Bissonnet St., Bellaire. The Montrose location of the eatery has been serving up burgers since 1937. The Bellaire location will offer signature burgers, sandwiches, sides and breakfast items from the original menu as well as 20 taps of self-serve draft beer. The shop will be run by Jessica and Paul Prior, the third generation to run the family business, which was originally founded by Paul’s grandparents, Aubrey and Nona. Guests will use an RFID-enabled wristband to pour themselves drinks from a selection of local craft breweries and hand-picked beers on rotation, according to a May 10 news release.

2. A new location of Restore Hyper Wellness opened in May in Meyerland with a grand opening celebration taking place over the May 12-14 weekend. The brand can be found at 4886 Beechnut St., Houston. Restore seeks to help people deal with persistent pain, lessen the effects of aging, boost athletic performance and bolster the body's natural defenses, according to a May 10 news release. Services are guided by experts, on-site registered nurses and independent physicians. Services can include cryotherapy, IV therapy, red light therapy, infrared saunas and mild hyperbaric oxygen therapy, among others. The grand opening celebration includes discounted rates on certain services and membership opportunities. 713-491-4255.

3. A celebration will take place from noon-5 p.m. May 13 for the 45th anniversary of I W Marks at 3841 Bellaire Blvd., Houston. The event will include barbecue catered by Truth BBQ, live country music from Nobody's Fool, family-friendly activities, a picnic in the parking lot and the debut of I W Marks' signature craft beer created in collaboration with 8th Wonder Brewery, according to a May 1 news release. Two luxury jewelry designers—Sloan Street and Lauren Craft—will also be on-site hosting trunk shows inside the store. A percentage of the proceeds from jewelry sales during the event will benefit the Houston Children’s Charity. 713-668-5000.
