American, Tex-Mex diner Lankford's sets end of March for Bellaire grand opening

Burger fans have a reason to rejoice this March as Lankford's second location prepares for its grand opening this March.

A restaurant official confirmed March 31 for the restaurant's opening, and it is still in the process of hiring and interviewing staff.

The American and Tex-Mex diner has served American burgers and other food items since 1937. The 85-year-old restaurant’s second site will be located at 5208 Bissonnet St., Bellaire, within the Bissonnet Center. An April 2022 news release from the restaurant originally stated the opening would take place in fall 2022.

Diners can expect breakfast menu items, such as breakfast tacos, oatmeal, lonestar tostadas, refried beans, Monterey Jack cheese served with sunny-side-up fried eggs, according to its website. Lankford’s serves American burgers, and its famous beef patty can be substituted for grilled chicken; turkey; or vegetarian-friendly options, such as black bean or Impossible meat patties. The diner also serves daily specials.
