Texas-based flexible office space provider Common Desk is expanding its footprint at the Ion innovation hub in Houston, located at 4201 Main St., Ste. 200, Houston.
Common Desk opened on the second floor of the Ion in August 2021, occupying 58,400 square feet of space. The expansion involves adding another 28,000 square feet on the fourth floor of the building, giving the company a total of more than 86,000 square feet, according to a Dec. 6 announcement.
Since the company launched at the Ion, its space reached full occupancy in less than a year, and officials said they are now managing a waiting list. The expansion will offer more office suites sized for start-ups. Amenities at the site include in-house coffee bars and conference rooms.
“When people work in an inspiring place that fosters community, going into work is exciting,” Ion Executive Director Jan Odegard said in a news release.
The new space is expected to be ready for tenants by fall 2023.
