The League City Convention & Visitors Bureau, which promotes tourism in the city, was awarded four Destination Excellence Awards at the annual Texas Association of Convention and Visitors Bureau conference Sept. 29.

The LCCVB, located at 300 W. Walker St., League City, received first-place awards for Destination Marketing Organization of the Year and website design and effectiveness. In addition, the LCCVB received second-place awards for community and local engagement and leisure tourism marketing.

According to a city news release, these awards are juried by a panel of industry experts and aim to recognize "outstanding contributions to destination management."

"Receiving these awards is a huge honor," LCCVB Manager Stephanie Polk said in the release. "We have a very small CVB staff compared to other destinations and have worked really hard this past year on dozens of campaigns and projects to help promote League City as a great place to visit. To win Destination Marketing Organization of the Year tells me that our hard work is paying off and being recognized."
