On May 6, re:3D—a company at 1100 Hercules Ave., Ste. 220, Houston, that creates affordable, large-scale 3D printers—launched a new campaign called PPE for the People. The effort will create and provide 3D-printed personal protective equipment to essential workers in underserved populations in the Greater Houston area. Impact Hub Houston, a nonprofit that aims to help solve social problems, is sponsoring the campaign.
“We are honored to help those who are most vulnerable,” Community Liaison Charlotte Craff said in a press release. “Data from the CDC has shown minority communities are at greater risk of critical illness from COVID-19, and we want to help local small businesses protect their employees as best as possible without it being an added financial burden on already strained industries.”
