  • Council position 3, which is held by Tom Crews
  • Council position 4, which is held by Courtney Chadwell
  • Council position 5, which is held by Justin Hicks

Diving in deeper

The terms will be for four years and are each at-large positions, meaning they represent the community as a whole rather than a specific district, according to the city’s website.

Per city code, neither a council member or the mayor may not serve more than two consecutive terms in the same position, according to the city’s website.

Duties of city council members include voting on ordinances and resolutions, establishing city policy and approving the annual budget, among other duties.

“League City has a council-manager form of government,” the July 16 post from the city reads. “This means our City Council represents their constituency by being responsive to citizens’ needs and tasks the city manager with carrying out the delivery of these public services.”
