Similar to the zoning change approved in late April, League City City Council on May 11 approved another zoning change to align land uses.

With the council’s vote, about 10 acres of land will be rezoned from Open Space and Commercial Mixed Use within a planned unit development to General Commercial.

The land is south of League City Parkway, east of Tuscan Lakes Boulevard and north of FM 646.

By rezoning the land, a total of 53.6 acres of contiguous property is now zoned General Commercial for future development, according to a city memo.

“With all the adjacent properties zoned [General Commercial], the likelihood of these properties being developed together without any zoning conflicts increases,” the memo reads.

Four notices were sent to property owners with 200 feet of the rezoned land, and the city received no response. City Council approved the rezoning unanimously.
