Update: Houston PetSet officials announced Feb. 26 that the event planned for Feb. 27 was canceled. In a statement, officials said to stay tuned for future events in District H and other communities.

Houston PetSet, a nonprofit working to end animal homelessness in Houston, is partnering with Mario Castillo, Houston City Council District H representative, to provide free spay and neuter services to Houston residents.

Two-minute impact

Houston PetSet officials will be bringing their state-of-the-art mobile surgical unit to provide free spay and neuter services to residents, according to a Feb. 22 news release.

Castillo also secured $3,000 in funding to provide each pet brought to the event with two extra months of flea and tick prevention.One more thing


The event is a part of Houston's District H celebration of Love Your Pet Month in February. Other events throughout the month included a pet food pantry, a vaccine clinic, senior pet programs and free wellness events.
