With 9 of 9 polling centers in Galveston County reporting, Sean Saunders is the winner for the League City City Council Position 7 runoff race.

Final unofficial results show Saunders received 2,787 votes, or 74.38% of the vote. His opponent, Larissa Ramirez, has received 960 votes, or 25.62% of the vote.

Saunders has been an employee of a large municipal fire/EMS department for more than 20 years. In a previous Q&A with Community Impact, Saunders shared that his priorities would be transportation infrastructure and a competitive compensatory structure to ensure proper staffing.

Saunders will serve a four-year term. The Position 7 seat was previously held by Nick Long, who was appointed to serve as League City mayor after running unopposed.

With 7 of 9 polling centers in Galveston County reporting, Saunders is the likely winner for the League City City Council Position 7.

Saunders has received 2,288 votes, or 74.19% of the vote. Ramirez has received 796 votes, or 25.81% of the vote.

In the Dec. 6 runoff race, Sean Saunders has taken the lead over Larissa Ramirez for the League City City Council Position 7, as of 8:06 p.m.

With Galveston County early voting results in, Saunders has received 1,654 votes, or 74% of the vote. Ramirez has received 581 votes, or 26% of the vote.
