Democratic incumbent Precinct 2 Commissioner Adrian Garcia's lead grew to more than 5 percentage points over Republican candidate Jack Morman with all 782 polling centers reporting.
Based on unofficial results from the Harris County Office of the Elections Administrator, Garcia has 52.56% of the vote to Morman's 47.44% for the largest lead out of the three Democratic candidates for Commissioners Court.
Neither Garcia nor Morman had provided a statement by the time of publication.
In a Q&A with Community Impact, Garcia said public safety was a top priority for him along with access to health care.
"Making Precinct 2 the best place to live, work and play is what drives me," Garcia said in a statement.
With likely wins by Garcia and Democratic candidate for Precinct 4 Commissioner Lesley Briones paired with the concession by Alexandra del Moral Mealer, the Republican candidate for Harris County judge, Democrats will expand their control of Commissioners Court to a 4-1 majority, leaving Precinct 3 Commissioner Tom Ramsey to serve as the sole Republican.
