The county saw 69 cases Sept. 3, which is the largest single-day new case count since 71 were reported Aug 20. On Sept. 1, the county saw 38 new cases, and there were 30 new cases Sept. 2.
The county has seen a clump of reported deaths recently. Since Aug. 27, the county has seen 52 COVID-19-related deaths. Those deaths make up over one-third of the 133 deaths the county has seen since the pandemic began in March.
Of the 133 deaths, 13 were reported Sept. 1, and eight were reported Sept. 2. On Aug. 31, the county reported 15 deaths—the largest single day of COVID-19 deaths for the county so far.
Of the 10,715 cases throughout the county, 8,264 have recovered, and 2,318 are active. Of the active cases, 83 are hospitalized.
