Devil and the Deep Brewery, a Galveston-area staple since February 2018, is closing its doors to relocate to a new spot in League City, the owner confirmed.

The details

Formerly located at 2425 Postoffice St., Galveston, League City economic development officials expect the move to be finalized by the summer. The taproom has hosted live music, comedians, science lectures and art shows, according to its website.

The new brewery will soft open in April in its outdoor beer garden after finishing parking and landscaping while construction continues inside the building, the owner said.

They boast better equipment at the new location and will also institute a Mug Club program, where members can purchase free beers from its taproom for life.

Diving in deeper

Devil and the Deep officials said in a social media post the new brewery in League City is expected to triple the sales of its Galveston location due to 40,000 people traveling past the street entrance at League City Parkway and the access the roadway provides to the city's growing community.

They cited low walking traffic, decreased sales, increased crime and lack of parking access as reasons for the move in the same post.
