Spring-based MiMi J's Kitchen offers home-cooked meals on the go

While many eateries in the Greater Houston area struggled to adjust during the coronavirus pandemic shutdowns, Jacque Guinn, owner of MiMi J’s Kitchen in Spring, was trying out new recipes, supporting her local community and offering a product to help bring families back to the dinner table.

Yard Love now helping Cypress, Tomball families celebrate special occasions

Local mom Aaren Halencak launched Yard Love Cypress on June 1, offering custom yard greetings for residents of ZIP codes 77429 and 77377.



Free COVID-19 testing will be offered at Sterling Ridge Park and Ride in The Woodlands on June 18-21

A new COVID-19 mobile testing site will operate in The Woodlands from June 18-21.

The site, located at the Sterling Ridge Park and Ride lot at 8001 McBeth Way, will offer free testing between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Education One now offering tutoring and test prep services in Sugar Land

Education One, a tutoring and test prep provider, opened a location at 3632 S. Hwy. 6, Sugar Land, on June 8.

Among the services the business offers are K-12 grade tutoring, SAT and ACT test prep, academic counseling, and private school and college admissions advising.

Fourth annual Shelter for Shelter to feature virtual fundraiser

The fourth annual Shelter for Shelter is scheduled to occur through a livestreamed event June 18 beginning at 7 p.m.

Community Self Storage opens new location in Katy area

Community Self Storage opened a new location in January at 23155 Morton Ranch Road, Katy. The company offers individually alarmed storage units with climate control and 24-hour camera surveillance.

To-do list: 16 in-person virtual Juneteenth events in the Greater Houston area

In Texas, Juneteenth became a state holiday in 1980, according to press release from Galveston Island Convention and Visitors Bureau, which is co-hosting two virtual events on June 19.
