League City is gearing up for the third annual White Linen Night: An Art Affair, which will take place on June 8.

The gist

The White Linen Night: An Art Affair, which is a free arts and cultural event where guests are invited to wear white clothing, will take place in League City’s Historic District from League Park to the League City Historical Museum from 4 to 8 p.m., according to the city’s website.

Nearly 100 booths with art for sale and food trucks will be stationed along the side streets throughout the historic district, according to the city’s website.

Houston Art Cars will host a car show and there will be an art-focused “Kid Zone” in League Park with activities such as abstract watercolors, tissue paper flower-making, silk screening, mini-kite building and rock painting. The activities are guided by teachers and students from the University of Houston-Clear Lake Art School.

White Linen Night pays homage to the centuries-old New Orleans tradition of wearing white clothes while socializing outdoors, according to the city’s website.
