The office of Harris County Precinct 1 Constable Alan Rosen celebrated the opening of a new Community Resource Office on July 16 at 942 Heights Blvd.
The office will serve as a way to get the community involved with stopping crime, officials said. Residents can fill out police reports, read safety tips, take self-defense classes from the office and get child fingerprint kits, Rosen said at the grand opening.
“The only way we are going to be successful in fighting crime is with everybody’s help,” he said. “We don’t solve crime without the community’s help and assistance. Most of the crimes that get dealt with are led by community tips.”
The new office was cheered by the Houston Heights Association, which works with constable’s office to keep the area safe. For the past several years, the constable’s office and HHA have partnered to create the Houston Heights Constable Patrol Program. Four deputies work 40 hours a week to stop crime through the program.
