A number of new businesses have recently opened or are coming soon in the Heights, River Oaks, Montrose and surrounding areas. Meanwhile, a long-standing school of dance is celebrating its 10-year anniversary.
1. River Oaks School of Dancing will celebrate its 10-year anniversary Dec. 17. The business, located at 2621 S. Shepherd Drive, Ste. 200, Houston, offers private lessons for a number of occasions, including wedding dance lessons, social dancing and lessons for competitive dancing. Antonio Conde, who runs the school with his wife, Kim Conde, said the couple is grateful for the community support the business has received over the years. 2. The newest location of Local Table is now open as of Dec. 15 in the Garden Oaks/Oak Forest area at 2003 W. 34th St., Houston. The eatery, Local Table's fourth in Houston, focuses on dishes made with locally-sourced ingredients, including seafood, wood-stone pizzas, sandwiches, and gluten-free and vegetarian options. 3. Mendocino Farms, a fast-casual restaurant known for its wide-ranging and seasonally-inspired menu options, opened Dec. 14 in the M-K-T Heights development at 600 N. Shepherd Drive, Ste. 495, Houston. The eatery specializes in sandwiches and salads that range from traditional to more adventurous options.
