Idle Hands, a popular bar on Rainey Street in Austin, made its Houston debut Nov. 10 in the Montrose Collective at 910 Westheimer Road, Houston, offering tropical vibes and Caribbean craft cocktails.
The bar features a rooftop lounge, a downstairs bar and patio, and an upstairs bar with another lounge area. Live music takes place nightly. Idle Hands is being launched as a partnership between owners Matt Wolski and Andrew Hunter.
"Idle Hands is truly a labor of love and brings to life some of our fondest collective travel memories and influences," said Wolski, a principal with Midas Willum Hospitality, the group behind the Idle Hands concept. "Houston is an eclectic city rich in culture and history. We think the city will marry beautifully with our concept, and we look forward to bringing a venue the community can embrace and be proud of."
In addition to tropical drinks, such as pina coladas, mojitos and palomas, Idle Hands brings refreshing twists to other classics, including a French 85 made with guava-infused gin, according to a Nov. 8 press release.
