Art galleries, local shops and restaurants throughout the Houston Heights will welcome thousands of visitors during White Linen Night, the neighborhood's annual celebration of art and community.
White Linen Night will kick off Aug. 1 from 6-10 p.m. along the historic West 19th Street.
The event
The annual event is described as a massive street fair patterned after a New Orleans festival hosted in the French Quarter, where visitors and residents wear upscale white attire to enjoy the summer and support local businesses, per the event's website.
The Feel Good Group, an event planning company, is partnering with the district's 19th Street Merchants Association, which represents the Heights' historic 19th Street shopping district, to host White Linen Night for the fourth year in a row. This year, the event is celebrating its 20th anniversary.
What you need to know
Tickets to the event are $20 and available online or at the event. Kids 12 and under are free. Proceeds support enhanced safety and crowd control for the event, as well as help fund year-round improvements to 19th Street, according to the Feel Good Group's event website.
Guests can bring dogs, coolers, and reusable cups. However, no glass is allowed. The event has four entrance points, but no official parking is available.

However, some related curated event celebrations for White Linen Night happening around Houston include:
An all-white affair at Best Regards will feature live DJ sets, elegant cocktails and an open-door policy.
Heights Bier Garten offers an open-air beer garden to sip cocktails and hear live music from Good Time Muffin beginning at 4 p.m.
Heights & Co. will offer $10 espresso martinis and a $12 smashburger and fries combo.
Hotel Daphne will host a White Linen Soiree with spritz-forward cocktails, oysters and live DJ sets in the courtyard for $125 per ticket.
"As we celebrate our 20th anniversary, we honor not only the incredible growth of the event but also the small business owners whose passion and entrepreneurship have made it possible," a statement on the event website reads. "White Linen Night is more than an annual celebration, it's a tribute to the independent businesses that define our neighborhood and a reminder of the power of shopping local, building community and preserving the unique character of Historic 19th Street for generations to come."
