With America turning 250 this year, the Fourth of July will be a big celebration throughout the country, and Houston is no exception. As tradition, the holiday will be celebrated with fireworks. Here are six places to watch the sky light up throughout the city and suburbs.
Freedom Over Texas
Houston’s annual Independence Day event will feature Keith Urban, Collective Soul and Los Lonely Boys. Festivities will begin at 3 p.m. and include a kids' zone, food trucks and cooling and hydration stations to beat the heat. The show will end with a fireworks finale at 9:33 p.m.
Celebrate America’s birthday with the Houston Symphony at Miller Outdoor Theatre. Hear a variety of music from historic composers to contemporary pieces. The free show will end with fireworks, and attendees are encouraged to download an app to hear a curated playlist.

POST Houston
POST Houston will host a rooftop celebration with a view of the Freedom Over Texas fireworks show. They will have multiple cirque performers, balloon artists and face painting, food, multiple bars on the roof and live performances.
Forme will host an exclusive event beginning at 6 p.m. It will begin with the unveiling of a monumental new mural commissioned through Street Art for Mankind. Guests will have beverages, hors d'oeuvres, live music and a poolside DJ with a view of the fireworks display.

The city of West University Place will host its annual Independence Day parade and pool party. There will not be an official fireworks show, but the city is still celebrating in a festive way. Lineup begins at 8:45 a.m. in front of West U Elementary School on University Boulevard. The parade begins at 9 a.m. The pool party will begin at 9:15 a.m. and end at noon.

Bellaire Celebration of Independence Parade & Festival
The city of Bellaire will host the Celebration of Independence Parade and Festival. The parade will begin at 9 a.m., followed by the festival. The festival will include food, music from a live band and the unveiling of a 1976 time capsule. There will not be an official fireworks show put on by the city.
