Chefs For Farmers, a Texas-based food and wine festival, will be held in Houston for the first time, event officials announced in July, bringing an all-star lineup of local chefs to serve locally sourced dishes.
The event will be held from 2-5 p.m. Oct. 2 at the new mixed-use development Autry Park, located at 3737 Cogdell St., Houston, in Montrose. Previously, the Dallas-based event took place in areas around North Texas.
Top chefs will cook with ingredients produced by local farmers in the Houston area and serve it to guests. Over 20 chefs from different culinary backgrounds are participating in the event, including Hugo Ortega of Backstreet Cafe; Chris Shepherd of Georgia James; and Aaron Bludorn, whose eponymous restaurant can be found several blocks away from the event site on Taft Street.
Brewers will also serve alcoholic beverages at the event, according to a July 11 press release.
