From authentic Mexican cuisine to locally roasted coffee, here are six dining updates across the Greater Houston area, including local restaurant staple highlights and restaurants that recently opened or are coming soon, as reported by Community Impact.
Olympic gold medalist and Spring native Simone Biles celebrated the opening of her first restaurant, Taste of Gold, at George Bush Intercontinental Airport on March 24. The restaurant offers a menu of salads, sandwiches, salads, desserts and appetizers.
Saigon Cafe recently celebrated the opening of its new location in Humble, which offers a variety of Vietnamese dishes, including banh mi, vermicelli, pho and rolls. The restaurant also offers Vietnamese coffee, milk tea, brown sugar boba and boba tea.
Slowpokes, a locally owned coffee shop, has opened its eighth location at Silver Street Studios. The menu includes options such as biscuits, croissants and bagels as well as sandwiches and flatbreads. In addition to coffee, Slowpokes serves teas, specialty lattes, refreshers, craft beer and wine.
Manvel residents can now enjoy dine-in, takeout and delivery services from Five Guys. Five Guys was first established in 1986. Known for its burgers, fries and milkshakes, the brand has expanded across the country and now into Manvel.
Letty Martinez, owner of Letty’s Authentic Mexican Cocina, said she plans to open a new eatery in Humble—The Taco Shop On First St.—on March 30. The restaurant will serve Mexican breakfast options, including breakfast tacos made with handmade tortillas.
Jinxie Peruzzi, mother of eight children and business owner of The Caffeine Collective and Buddy and Sis Co., said she founded her own coffee shop to offer a community space for other mothers to feel welcome and at ease in a family-friendly environment.
