Davanti Ristorante, an Italian restaurant, opened July 6 at 2900 Weslayan St., Ste. A, Houston.
Chef Roberto Crescini and partner Francisco “Paco” Calza are the masterminds behind the new concept. According to a press release, the two met a few years ago while Crescini was working at Fresco Café Italiano—where Calza ate the “best pasta” he had ever had.
Eventually—after multiple discussions of their shared love for high-quality European ingredients, a period during which Crescini almost left Houston—the restaurant was brought to fruition. Davanti means “front" or "forward” and stands for the next chapter for Crescini and Calza, according to the release.
The counter-service restaurant will offer traditional Italian breakfast, lunch and dinner along with takeout options.
