Dinette Vietnamese Kitchen and Bar in the Heights closing in early February

After a year and a half serving Vietnamese-inspired cuisine, officials with Dinette Vietnamese Kitchen and Bar announced Jan. 31 that they will serve their final meal on Feb. 4.

The team behind Hando and Kanpai Club served classic dishes and drinks with a menu that highlighted small to medium plates, such as tamarind wings and thit kho on crispy rice, as well as larger, family-style dishes, including a brisket with puff pho noodles.

While the Heights community will no longer have meals at the neighborhood Vietnamese kitchen, bar and bakery, co-owner Raymond Chan hinted at the possibility of still using the space in the future.

"Despite today's announcement and the closing of this chapter, we are extremely proud of all that we have accomplished with Dinette, and we look forward to developing a new concept to open in the current space. We invite everyone to come in and enjoy their favorite meals one last time this week," Chan said in a news release.

Chan said he's grateful to all of their employees and loyal customers for supporting their small business since they held their soft opening on July 26, 2022. General Manager Mandy Tran said in a news release guests can support their sister restaurant, Hando, also located in the Heights on 11th Street.

"Over the last year and a half, we have had the opportunity to share our passion for Vietnam's culture by allowing our customers to feel a true sense of hospitality, much like us inviting them into our home," Tran said.
